5 Must Visit Coffee Shops in Dallas

To say I’m a coffee snob, is quite an understatement. Since my first barista job I can firmly say life is far too short for bad coffee. I love all coffee, from Black coffee, espressos, dirty chai lattes, to iced cold brew…and my latest favorite? Nitro Cold Brew! On my days off, you can typically find me with a cup of coffee in hand, or at a various coffee shop across DFW. Dustin and I love sitting down to just talk over coffee, in a peaceful, warm setting.

There's just something about a warm cup, and good conversation that always refuels my soul, gives me direction, and makes life just a little easier. Click To Tweet

I’ll never forget this one shop in Colorado, we walked in and someone was playing a song on a  Grand Piano in a very eclectic place, it was absolutely beautiful. Maybe it’s the fact that places like these tend to comfort and awaken us. Earlier this week, we were at the cutest place with our pup Odin, and I knew I just had to share a few of my favorite places around the city. Today I’m serving up 5 essential coffee shops to visit in and around Dallas.

5 Must Visit Coffee Shops in Dallas

White Rock Lake Coffee

This is a frequent stop of mine, that’s very close to our apartment. White Rock Lake coffee is of course, very close to the lake + dog park, so we tend to hit this place up before heading to the dog park. This is also a shop that Oliver peck frequents – a very famous tattoo artist whose featured on Ink Master (I’m obsessed with him!) He owns and runs a shop in Deep Ellum, so from time to time, you’ll see him doing meetups, or holding events here. I love their entire ambiance they have going, they have an area for merch – shirts, various coffee beans, knick knacks. Then their menu is FULL of amazing drinks, pastries, and bagels. I’m kind of obsessed with their bagels…it’s just something about how they make them. They have everything from hot apple cider, which I love in the fall, to hot lattes.

Try this… Any fair trade organic roast, black. OR Iced Chai Latte

Houndstooth is perfect for strong coffee, I especially like their cold brew. This spot is rather picturesque, and includes a cute dog friendly patio (pictured below!) The atmosphere is good, calm, and the space is pretty neat and tidy. For a coffee shop, this place is rather minimalistic, yet hip…as the kids would say. I loved everything from their menus, which were glued to wood, the whole theme is rather rustic, but very clean. Dustin and I loved the patio area, which is also filled with picnic tables.

Try This…. Cold Brew with a shot of espresso + a squirt of vanilla flavoring.

Pearl Cup Coffee

Pear cup is quaint, with a neutral but cozy color scheme inside, with a patio as well. I love their shop because it’s very rustic, but clean!  You MUST inside to get a feel for the ambiance. The baristas are SO FRIENDLY! One time they just gave me 10% for “looking” like a student.. I wasn’t sure what to think of that, seeing as I was in sweats, and looked about 16 at the time, but I didn’t mind saving a few bucks. I love Peal Cup Coffee because it’ a shop that’s not really in the city, it has AMPLE parking which makes going in and out such a breeze.

Try this… Have them make you any latte, but ask for a tree, or heart (their latte art is BOMB!)

Local Press + Brew

My FAVORITE spot for just plain ol’ Black coffee, hands down! The coffee is strong, and you certainly get what you pay for. I love this shop because the entire theme is just plain black and white. It’s very chic, somewhere that feels very high end. They also have cute names for their coffee creations…definitely the most adorable shop around.

Try this… Ask for a “Bishop Arts”

Magnolias Sous Le Pont

This aborable spot is top rated, named one of Dallas’s “essential coffee shops.” This tiny place instantly awakens me with it’s bold color scheme: a beautiful blue. Inside if very eclectic, which I absolutely love. They have various seating, to couches and cute chairs, and even barstools. The environment just screams cozy, I honestly felt so comfortable I wanted to take a nap! I love all the cool art work here, and it’s just a place you instantly want to hang out at.

Try this…From the “hot menu” try either a Long Black or a Cortado

Where are your FAVORITE coffee spots where you live? What makes you love them so much? If you could drink one cup of java for the rest of your days, what would it be?! Let me know in the comments down below!
