Hello friends, how are you all on this Monday morning?! I am so excited to share with you all my most recent beauty favorites today. For those a bit newer around here, I’m a licensed Cosmetologist whose dabbled in all things hair, beauty, skin ect for the past 5+ years. I’ve worked in various salon/spa/ and beauty settings. My most recent job was with Sephora, where I was promoted all the way to the top, and loved every aspect of it (minus managing!) Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED my position at Sephora, but I just hated the fact I wasn’t doing exactly what I loved every second of every day on the black tile. I missed working exclusively with my clients to help them find the best skincare for them, and teaching how to successfully master a winged liner. Now that I’ve stepped away from the beauty world for the moment (I’ll always have my license to fall back on thankfully!) I wanted to share my knowledge, tips and tricks when it comes to all things beauty. Today I’m sharing my latest faves, all the way from brows to nail polish. Read on to hear my faves.
Current Beauty Favorites
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
You guys I can’t say it enough I just LOVE this palette! This is the very eyeshadow palette I used to create my own wedding day peachy/orange eye look. The shade range is just gorgeous, all the way from neutrals, to golds, to beautiful pinks. When I think of this palette, I instantly think of a mix of Summer and Fall. This could easily be an every day palette, as well as for date night looks. If you’re looking for a palette with major pigment pay off, I highly, HIGHLY suggest this!
It Cosmetics CC Cream in Fair
This has been the ONLY thing I’ve worn on my face since leaving Sephora. I no longer had to sport full coverage, full face makeup, so I opted for this for my everyday base. I typically only wear this when I’m working, or if I’m going out on the town with my husband. I dedicate 2 days out of my week to go makeup free and to let my skin truly breathe. I love this CC cream because it helps to fade hyperpigmentation (I struggle with post acne scarring) perfect the skin, as well as protect it with spf 50 and provide buildable coverage. To be quite honest, I can easily build this up to medium coverage at best. If I need any additional coverage I’ll go in with my trusty concealer or dust on powder. If you’re looking for makeup that embodies skincare with badass coverage, I highly recommend this product!
Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer
All hail LAURA MERCIER! Not just because we share the same name 🙂 I absolutely LOVE this product, I can’t even express it. I have a bazillion primers full of silicone as the main ingredient (typically found in mattifiying or pore perfecting primers) that just don’t sit well with my sensitive/acne-prone skin. This primer however, is chock full of amazing, skin soothing ingredients, that provides the smoothest canvas to allow my makeup to go on flawlessly. This has been my go-to primer for about 7 months or so, and honestly, this is the type of product I will keep constantly repurchasing. If you have sensitive skin and are looking for a small dose of hydration, definitely pick up a sample at Sephora!
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in White
I have a MILLION colors of nail polish, everything from Essie to OPI thanks to Cosmetology school as well as Sephora gratis. The hard as nails collection is honestly one of my favorites out there. It does dry, and hard as nails. I typically let my nails set for 45 minutes, as I’ve found doing nails that’s usually how long it takes for them to solidify….but with this, it’s good to go in 20. This color is my go-to lately. It’s crisp, clean and just polished.
Benefit Gimme Brow in Brown
Two things that I always wear, no matter what: mascara & brows. That’s just how I roll. I typically don’t fill in my brows a ton, I shape my own, so for me, it’s all about adding that extra definition. On days where I just want my eyebrows to appear a little fuller as well as darker, this is the EASIEST thing to apply. It takes 10 seconds and you’re good to go. If you’re a beginner when it comes to eyebrows, or just wanting a little definition, I would highly suggest testing out this product.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe
On days where I want to make clean lines, as well as fill in my brows and go the extra mile, I opt for this product. I by no means take 10 minutes on my brows, it’s simply a few flicks and I’m done. I like the appearance of fuller brows, but I don’t go too over the top. I like the natural look, but I want to look polished. Brow Wiz also has a spooly at the end of the pencil, and it works wonders for combing and keeping your brows in place. If you’re looking for an easy way to carve out your brows, or just add more fullness, this should be your new best friend.
Tarte Lights Camera Lashes
By no means will I spend anywhere more than $10 on mascara on any day, no matter what my situation is – this was 100% free to me from Sephora. I naturally have long lashes that stay pretty curled on a day to day basis, so I’m a low maintenance type of girl when it comes to mascara. I have a ton of favorites when it comes to high end as well as drugstore mascaras. I have a big love affair with Tarte products simply because they are usually more of a natural brand. Also, the packaging is cute, and typically eco-friendly. This mascara is super black, which I’m a huge fan of. I like more bold lashes, so this has been my go-to mascara as of late.
Real Techniques Flawless Base Set
I feel a little late in the game for finding out about this brush line, but you know how it goes… 95% of my brushes are from Sephora, and the rest are just random brands. Lately to blend out my CC cream I’ve been hooked on the “buffing” brush. It’s pretty dense, so it applies my base very well, and gives it a more medium type of coverage, without beating my face for twenty minutes straight. The brush set is very soft, and I highly recommend this for the quality, and price!
