June Goals

Hello lovelies, how are you all doing lately? I can NOT believe it’s officially the start of a new month. I can definitely feel the change across Dallas, for sure. The temps are getting hot, and staying there. Summer is officially here in Texas. Today it will be 103 and luckily, I’ll be at work for most of my day, so it wont be too too bad. I feel like ever since we got married back in October, this year has flown by so fast! It’s been such a good year for us, and I just can’t wait to see what the next few months has in store for us. I haven’t set any monthly goals for myself in a long time, so today, it’s time to get back to business and focusing on making June a successful, productive month. Have you set any goals for the new month just yet??

Stay hydrated + Active consistently

This one hasn’t been difficult for me, but…with the temps heating up, I tend to fall sluggish and just tired. Sooo it’s super important I just get my butt to the gym, especially on my days off, and a few times in between my work week. Being a Personal Trainer, it’s so important to me to practice what I preach and just get it all done. I typically drink 90-100 ounces each day, and that was a goal I set back in January, and had no problem making that a daily habit. For me, it’s all about keeping myself accountable and just doing it, no matter what, despite the temptation to just Netflix & chill.

Plan a fun day trip / road trip

For those a bit newer around here, my husband and I are not homebodies in the slightest. We LOVE road trips, hiking, day trips, just exploring in general. The last time we went on a road trip was in April, and honestly? it’s been too long in my book. Lately we’ve been into trying new restaurants and exploring downtown Dallas, but…I’d rather be hiking or on a road trip to visit an unfamiliar destination. Luckily our new pup, Odin, loves road trips, and is super chill in the car – he honestly fits in so well into our family. I’m dying to plan a little road trip, or go somewhere new sometime soon. We are going on our first vacation as a married couple in August to Maine, but that’s still just too far away. The wanderlust is real you guys, and I am so ready to see something new!

Reconnect with myself more often

Honestly? This is the most important one of all. Self care to me, is everything, so this month that’s something I intend on doing. Lately, if I get out of work early, I take that time to lay on the couch and go on Pinterest, or just be lazy, but I want that to be used in a productive way. This month I want to focus on connecting with myself, doing things that I love, and just simply taking care of myself. Last month I had a free voucher to SpaCastle (I’ll do another post on this later) and I spent the entire day in various sauna rooms (Himalayan Salt, Charcoal, Ice rooms) and different pools, and honestly it was so amazing to just be alone and focus on me, how I’m feeling, and reconnecting with myself. This month I’m going to take time out of my day to take care of my mind, body and soul.

Finish my reading list

This one will forever be on my monthly goals. I really just want to get back into reading daily, and journaling as well. Reading and writing is a big part of my life, so for me, reading is easily an act of self care. Reading always feels good, and puts me in the best mood possible. I love taking an hour out of my day to escape in a good book. I’m almost finished with my book “You’re A Badass” so right now, that is my goal.

Figure out important dates…

When we first moved to Texas, and I realized how cheap it was to live here, I wanted to take full advantage of that. Last year, I decided to pursue more education and become an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and I did! That to me, was just the tip of the iceberg. For years I’ve wanted to pursue more, and just…do more, period. Right now, in this season of my life, I just want to be constantly growing and improving. I want to be the best I can be, for me, as well as my husband. I desperately want to start school, and begin taking classes, if all goes well, starting this fall, or next year. This month I want to form a solid plan, and make sure I have all my sh!t together, in order to start sooner rather than later.

What are your goals for the month of June??
