New Skincare Routine Featuring Drunk Elephant

Huge thank you to Drunk Elephant for sending me this amazing PR package! All thoughts, and opinions are my own.

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve chatted about skincare here on the blog. Being a Cosmetologist with a huge focus on skincare for the majority of my career, I try to write about other things here on the blog, but alas… here we are! Today I am so pumped to share with you all my new and improved skincare routine, featuring exclusively, Drunk Elephant! For quite some time, I was always a Tatcha, or Ren girl for my super sensitive skin, but now that I’ve found Drunk Elephant, my skin…has seriously, NEVER LOOKED BETTER. I can say with full transparency, this skincare brand is worth every single penny. Before we dive into my step by step routine, I want to share some of my skincare struggles/goals with you all. For the longest time, I have battled acne, even into my mid twenties…and that for me, has always hindered my self confidence. Now that my acne has cleared up (for the most part) I am left with horrible, dark hyperpigmentation due to acne. All I’ve ever dreamed of having was clear, glowing skin, so I could ditch my foundation for most days out of my work week. Friends… I am here to tell you, Drunk Elephant has surpassed all of my hopes/wishes of this goal.

My skin has never looked this good.

I mean it, never.

I’m 26 years old, and my skin has never been this even toned, soft, smooth, and radiant.

I’m not just saying that, I promise you. I wouldn’t stretch the truth, or blatantly share with you all something that I wasn’t 100% passionate about. Drunk Elephant has been able to allow me to go to work, foundation free.. I have always been the girl with a full face of makeup, always done up. And I mean… always. This skincare line has changed my skin. Is my skin perfect? Nope, definitely not. But it’s improving, every single day. Do I still have acne scars? Yep, you bet sister. Despite not having picture perfect skin, it’s even enough where I don’t feel I need to throw on my CC Cream each  day. I’m allowing my skin to breathe, heal, and improve. Don’t get me wrong, my mascara and brow routine is always a thing…. but for the first time in my life, I’ve skipped foundation all together, for months on end because of this skincare line. Now, lets get to my daily routine!

Step 1: Cleanse

Morning and night I reach for the Jelly Cleanser, because it’s gentle enough, but tough on all traces of makeup, including my stubborn mascara. I love this cleanser because it’s non-irritating and non-sensitizing on my super sensitive skin. The smell is also soothing, yet clean, which I love.

Step 2: Hydrate + Treat

Each morning following cleansing, I reach for either two serums, or both: B-Hydra Hydration Serum, and C-Firma Vitamin C serum. I find if I want a dewy, glowing look, I’ll make a tiny cocktail of the two serums in my hand, and massage it into my face. I love Drunk Elephant skincare because you CAN use serums/treatments together, and in no particular order because their skincare if formulated without parabens. These two serums have been a powerhouse at brightening and moisturizing my face, which I’m all for.

Step 3 (PM): Night Treatments

My nighttime routine is a little more complex than my morning routine. There are three different products I tend to reach for to help heal, and boosts my skins radiance. In Drunk Elephant fashion, I tend to make a tiny cocktail in my hand anywhere from 1-3 different product. One of which, is the most amazing moisturizing oil, the Marula Oil. The Marula oil has been a GAME CHANGER for my skin, you guys. I love oils, but this one, is so so hydrating and leaves my skin glowing. If I could only have one Drunk Elephant product, Marula Oil would be it. I always use my Marula oil prior to hydrating, and in conjunction with another serum. I usually pair my oil with either the TLC Glycolic Night Serum, or the A-Passioni Retinol Cream. I only use my retinol maybe 2x weekly, and the TLC night serum 2-3x weekly. Both products help to exfoliate the skin chemically, resurface and refine the skins texture. As someone with uneven skin-tone, these two products have helped to bring me closer to my goal of having a brighter, more even toned complexation.

Step 4: Moisturize / SPF

I reach for the cult favorite moisturizer: Protini Polypeptide Cream. I can’t quite express how much I love this moisturizer. From the first application, to even now, my skin LOVES this moisturizer. As soon as I put it on, my skin is glowing. looks more youthful, an visibly looks plump. I love the way this moisturizer looks underneath makeup, so this is something I’m constantly reaching for. During the day following my moisturizer, I’ll always apply the Umbra Sheer Physical Defense SPF. I love this SPF because it doesn’t leave a white cast on my face, and there is NO greasy feel to it…that’s a huge win in my book!

Step 5: Once weekly treatment: TLC Sukari Babyfacial Facial

I am OBSESSED with this treatment. If you’re someone struggling with dull/uneven skintone, you need this product. I love that this product is essentially a professional grade treatment in one small tube. The Sukari Babyfacial is an AHA/BHA chemical exfoliant, that helps to resurface the skin as it exfoliates, revealing brighter, and baby soft skin. I love using chemical exfoliants over physical, because it eats away at the dead skin resting on your face, allowing for a more glowing complexion, faster than any physical exfoliant can deliver results. After I apply the TLC Babyfacial, I let it sit for 20 minutes, then gently rinse. Sometimes after application I apply the ultra calming Marula oil, and moisturize. I love using this treatment weekly to gently exfoliate my skin, and boost radiance.

After trying Drunk Elephant for a few months, I can say with full confidence, I am drunk on these products (ha!) I can’t express how incredible this line has been for my hypersensitive, acne-prone skin. I can’t wait to see how much more my skin will transform while using this brand of skincare.
