I can’t believe the month of January is coming to a close, it feels like New Years just rolled around! Entering 2019, I knew this month was going to a stressful one. I’m not going to lie… it’s been a world wind of emotions this month. With our move coming up (next week!) and just trying to set ourselves up to drive across the country, I’m feeling a little burnt out. I definitely forgot just how stressful moving can be, and add distance to the mix, it’s been a challenge to say the least. And while I’m definitely sad to be leaving Dallas, I’m excited to move home to New England and start a new chapter alongside my husband.
With all of the chaos around us, I was finding it challenging to catch a break. Last week, I decided it was time to do some much needed self care activities. This came in the form of pampering, decluttering, and organizing. Since we are packing up, pretty much everything we owned, I decided it was the perfect time to purge my closet, and chuck everything that didn’t “spark joy”… yup, I went there. It’s been invigorating, to be completely honest. And then, I decided it was time to give myself a much needed makeover. I went out and got my haircut, and it felt awesome! I chopped about five inches off, and it felt so good to do something nice for myself. And then…. I got asked to be a hair model, for Gina Bianca aka The Hair Doctor – a salon/biz owner and educator who travels across the globe to help empower and teach stylists.
As a Cosmetologist, I knew I had to hop on this opportunity, to not only learn from her, but get a fresh new look for free. To say the least… I am beyond obsessed with my new look! She did two full services: full balayage & melting into fall, so I definitely lucked out! The best part? She’s actually from Connecticut, so I will definitely be going to her for color at her salon. Today I’m sharing with you all, my new year, new hair makeover!
I’m beyond obsessed with my new hair, and new look. I feel so refreshed, and confident to start this new chapter in my life. Sometimes, it’s just necessary to make a bold change with you hair, because it empowers you to make changes in your own life. It was a huge blessing to be asked to be a hair model, by such a talented stylist. Even though I’m not currently working in a salon, I still feel so passionate with hair, and just how incredible the industry truly is. Regardless, if you’re behind the chair or in it, a hair makeover is sometimes exactly what you need.
What do you think of my new look? When was the last time you made a bold change? Tell me in the comments below!
