October Goals

I can’t believe that we’re entering October you guys…where did September go?! I’m so happy that my favorite season of the year is here, and fall is in full swing. So far, I’ve strategically placed apple/pumpkin/vanilla scented candles all throughout our apartment so it smells warm and cozy no matter where you are. It’s finally fall and I’m so excited to be able to wear sweaters, drink pumpkin flavored coffee and watch the leaves change. I can’t express it enough, I’m so glad that September has come and gone, last month was a world wind of stress and anxiety and I’m ready for a fresh start. This month, I’m trying to keep myself on track by goal setting and checking in with myself daily. Read on to hear about my October Goals!

Celebrate Our One Year Wedding Anniversary

I’m in disbelief that in a few short weeks, my husband and I will be married for one year already. It seems like we got married just yesterday! Originally, we wanted to go back to Colorado for our one year, but this year we chose to stay in Dallas, because…it will be our last anniversary we spend here (more on this later!) Last month we went to GrapeFest, a big wine festival where we sampled tons of different wines, and purchased our favorite bottle and saved it,to open on our anniversary night. But other than that, We’re not to sure what we will end up doing to celebrate our wedding anniversary, maybe dinner, or go on a road trip…does anyone have any suggestions? What do you do to celebrate your anniversary?

Partake in Fall Activities

As much as we miss fall in New England, we are so excited to celebrate fall in Dallas! We love all the fall festivals that pop up all month long and can’t wait to partake in some. This year we will be heading to the Dallas Arboretum to see Pumpkin Village, and hopefully carve a few pumpkins of our own. We’re also considering visiting the Texas State Fair this year because we have yet to go, but we will see. We can’t wait for temperatures to drop here in Dallas, so we can break out our cold weather gear, and go leaf peeping in the next month or so. I have also created a “Fall Bucket List” which I will share with you all soon, full of fall related activities that anyone can do, regardless of where you live.

Start A New Venture

Fall for me, is a time full of transition. Several months ago, I had been on the fence about making a life altering decision about where I was heading, and where I wanted to go. Last month was such a world wind of change, and to be quite honest, I’m glad it was. Sometimes being uncomfortable is a huge blessing, and I’m just now realizing it’s okay to not know where your headed, and be able to go with the flow. This month I will be starting a new venture, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I promise I will share more detail with you all later this month, so stay tuned!

Focus On My Overall Health + Wellness

Coming into fall I want to make sure my fitness and health goals stay at the forefront of my priorities list. Fall is when my husband and I bake constantly, cook more hearty meals and tend to “slack” on eating healthy…it takes every ounce of effort to not nosh on pumpkin bread, eat pies, and all things baked goods. This year I want to ensure I’m stocking the pantry and fridge with healthy options. I’ve created a binder full of meal ideas, different recipes, and what seasonings/spices to have on hand at all times, and so far it’s been incredibly helpful on keeping myself on track with making healthy choices.
