Our Wedding Story Part 2

Hello lovelies and welcome to the final post in the series of “Our Wedding Story” I’m so happy to be able to share with you all a ton of photos of our wedding, and tell you all about our special day! This post will be VERY picture heavy – so get ready!

After Dustin and I became married at Mount Falcon Park, we went over to our second location. For our destination wedding, we wanted to take our guests on an adventure. As avid hikers, and explorers we thought this decision truly fit us as a couple. We chose to bring our guests to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre for a dose of exploration. While we were getting our photos done, we wanted our guests to be able to go off in the park and be able to go on an adventure of their own. My sister, and best friends decided to go see the amphitheater, while others took off down various paths. Dustin and I made our way through the park taking various photos.

After adventuring through Red Rocks, we all returned to the parking lot and made our way back to our Airbnb. We all pilled in cars together and were discussing how gorgeous both locations were. Everyone was speechless over Colorado’s natural beauty, and just took in the sights on our drive back. When we finally arrived back our Airbnb, we had our version of a “reception”. Dustin and I chose to simplify our wedding, and all we wanted was to sit around a giant dinner table, and share a meal together. One of my closest friends is a Chef-in-training (one day he will definitely open a restaurant – I keep telling him to!) so he prepared us our meal of choice… something easy, yet our personal favorites. He made for us the most delicious Taco’s of our lives. We had various taco meats, that he cooked overnight, so we all ate Taco’s and sipped on Margaritas. Everyone loved the meal, and we all sat around, laughing, story telling and just talking. It was the PERFECT end to our wedding day. We had SO MUCH fun that day, and everyone was just so happy to be able to come together and eat, talk, and just spend time together.

The very next day, everyone took Ubers or headed to the airport, to return to Maine/Texas and Dustin and I prepared for our Honeymoon! My sister and her husband stayed with us for the majority of the day, and we were more than thrilled to be able to spend extra time with her. We spent that day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park…again, totally “us”.  The weather was slightly chilly, as there was snow up on the mountains, but it was the BEST day, and we loved every second of being able to explore the Rockies. Sure, our wedding, our honeymoon isn’t your typical wedding…but I firmly believe your wedding should reflect who you and your spouse truly are as a couple. Dustin and I’s wedding was absolutely perfect in our eyes, and we were present and enjoyed each and every moment of it. We were so happy to be able to take our friends and family on an adventure with us, and it was done exactly the way we wanted. I hope you all enjoyed our wedding story series!
